Fans of climbing and hiking have in Croatia a lot of self realization. Climbing clubs take care about tourist signs. They usually have theirs cottages at the slopes. NP Paklenica with Anica Kuk located in the North Velebit is the best known climbing area in croatia. Anica Kuk is high 350 m, has almost vertical wall and there is tens of more difficult climbing ways. Climbing is possible also in canyon and around – Crljeni kuk, Rapavac, Visoka Glavica, Cuk. Beside NP Paklenica is climbing not allowed in all mountain Velebit.
Bijele and Samarske walls in Gorski kotar in NP Risnjak are great ground for rock climbing. Other places for climbing are Klek by Ogulin, Risnjak or another.
Great place for rock climbing is also near the town Omis in the centre Dalmaci, above the town in the canyon of river Cetina.
Climbing ways of different heftiness are near town Pag. Other places are: mountain Kozjak on the northeast from Split, peninsula Marljan near the Split, Klis (12 km from Split) - Markezina Greda).
In the are of Makarska Riviera are about 40 ways till 60 m above the resort Brela in the rocks Biokovo.
In the Istrie are climbing possibilities on the shorter ways (20 – 30 m) the most important climbing ways are by the cape Zlatni Rat in the town Rovinj, Lima bay, Dvograd by Kanfanar, Raspadalica by Buzet, Zarečki krov and Lido by Pazin, Vintijan on the south from Pula, Istarske Toplice, ways above the resort Mošćenička Draga, Vranjska Draga in mountain Učka.
