The best-known resorts of the western coast of Istria are Umag, Porec, Vrsar, Rovinj, Pula or Medulin, on the eastern coast Rabac and Opatija Riviera. Istrian coast is relatively flat, natural beaches are mostly formed by rocky plates and cliffs. Inland of Istria is hilly with undulating valleys and extensive plains, where you can find healing springs, karst formations, picturesque medieval town, as well as wine trails. In the north of Istria the Ucka mountains sharply rise. The highest peak of Ucka called Vojak (1396m) offers a beautiful view of the whole Istria region and Kvarner bay.
